It’s Valentine’s Day in Tonga!
We’re on our last month here, with only a little over a week to go. It’s really sinking in that we’re leaving a place that we’re just now feeling slightly settled in to. Strange how that happens. Today, at one in the afternoon, Sam’s co-workers threw us a goodbye luncheon, with cute little signs thrown here and there declaring “Happy Valentine’s Day!”.
And later on, between boxing up belongings, I presented Sam with a ukulele from Nuku’alofa’s very own Ukulele Hut next to the Loumaile Lodge in town. I was pretty proud of myself for procuring and hiding a ukulele in time for Valentine’s Day, but Sam had me totally beat. I don’t think anything could better express how awesome he is, together with our time here in the South Pacific (and our travels to Cambodia, Hong Kong and New Zealand in the interim), than this video he made for me for V-Day. I love it so much I wanted to post it, if for no other reason, so that I can view it without having to use his tiny little laptop! And so, without further ado, may I present Sam’s Valentine video, hailing from the South Seas:
